Genshin Impact: Upcoming Character Ifa and What We Know So Far !

We all know how Hoyoverse loves to keep us waiting for tall male characters, but the wait is almost over. A new male character named Ifa is confirmed to be playable in one of the upcoming Natlan patches.

In this video, we'll discuss what we know about him so far and speculate on his potential release date. First off, it's surprising that no one is really talking about Ifa yet. Sure, he hasn't appeared in the game, but he definitely deserves some attention. Hoyoverse has a history of releasing two tall male five-star characters in each region. For example, during the Liyue expansion, Zhongli and Childe were released in Version 1.1.

Similarly, during the Inazuma expansion, Itto and Ayato made their debut in Versions 2.3 and 2.6. In the Sumeru expansion, Alhaitham and Baizhu were released in Versions 3.4 and 3.6. Last year, in Version 4.1, Neuvillette and Wriothesley were introduced. So, if this pattern continues, we can expect two tall male characters in Natlan, and Ifa could be one of them.

Now, you might wonder why I'm specifically saying Ifa will be a five-star character. It’s because while other tall male characters like Kaveh and Kazuha also exist, they are four-stars, so they don’t fit the pattern. The characters from Natlan seem to hold Ifa in high regard. If you have Mualani and Kachina and listen to their voice lines, you’ll notice this too.
But if you haven't, that's what we're here for, right? Let’s first look at what Mualani says about Ifa. She mentions that Ifa is the best—no matter what he's invited to do, he’s always eager to help and excels at it. If he wasn't already a veterinarian, Mualani thinks he’d make an excellent water sports coach. She also points out that Ifa isn’t from the same tribe as the others.

This hints that he might belong to a different group within Natlan. Kachina shares similar praise for Ifa, stating that he's an amazing vet who can turn any sick animal's life around. Interestingly, Kachina mentions that people often ask Ifa to "fly over" to help, suggesting that he has the ability to fly. This could mean that Ifa is part of the Flower-Feather Clan.

Kinich, who also has a flying ability, might be related. Speaking of Kinich, his voice lines also praise Ifa's skills. He mentions that Ifa helped when his pet was sick and that he’s a real professional. However, Ifa isn’t without his critics. Ajaw says he thinks Ifa is a quack, indicating a difference of opinion about his abilities.

As for Ifa’s release date, there’s no solid information yet. However, it’s likely he won’t be released before Version 5.5, considering how packed the upcoming lineup of characters is. Unless Hoyoverse decides to release two five-star characters in the same patch again, we might see Ifa in Version 5.5 or later, similar to how Clorinde, Sigewinne, and Navia were introduced.
