Laser Gum Surgery | A Gentler Solution with LANAP

Laser Gum Surgery, otherwise known as LANAP is a much gentler alternative to traditional gum surgery. And now is FDA APPROVED!

In the past, when laser gum surgery was not used, periodontists had to cut the gum tissue and remove the disease because bacteria would live in these periodontal pockets and destroy the bone.

With traditional gum disease surgery we had to open up the gum tissue to scrape the pocket and then have to stitch it back together. This caused inconsistent results with usually lots of pain, discomfort, and unappealing aesthetics. With laser gum treatment, now periodontists can use the Millenium Laser to clean the tissue and stimulate growth and reattachment and treat periodontal disease.

The laser treats gum disease very effectively by using a very fine gold filament to go into the pocket and kill the bacteria. We clean the pocket out very thoroughly and make sure that the blood in the pocket clots. The gum actually reattaches to the tooth and closes the pocket without leaving gaps, or sensitivity.

The laser assisted new attachment procedure is the only protocol that has been proven to cause bone and tissue regeneration that reattaches the gum tissue to the bone.

Millenium Laser submitted a study to the FDA and they recently have been approved. They require extensive training to make sure that the laser gum surgery is being done properly.
