Dent and Garsdale Stations - Settle to Carlisle Line (16th & 23rd July 2022)

It was lovely to return to the Settle to Carlisle railway for my latest video which comes from the beautiful and charismatic stations at Dent and Garsdale. Both stations are situated in very remote locations within the Yorkshire Dales with Dent being the highest mainline station in England at 1,150 feet above sea level offering spectacular views over Dentdale Valley. Meanwhile, at Garsdale I learnt about the remarkable story of Ruswarp, the Border Collie, who belonged to Graham Nuttall. Together, they played a prominent role in the campaign to save the Settle to Carlisle line from closure back in the 1980’s. My overriding memory of both stations was of their unique location offering sweeping views of the surrounding countryside and a feeling of timelessness all around. I hope you enjoy watching the video.
