ITV 1 - Continuity and Adverts - May 22nd, 2000 (7)

This last clip is something of a treat for those of you who are as insane as I am. After Wish You Were Here finishes, DK bids us goodbye and then the Spyro soundtrack returns as the continuity announcer introduces us to ITV Nightscreen.

What’s ITV Nightscreen, I hear you ask? Well, basically, it’s the poor man’s equivalent of Pages from Ceefax, providing only the most basic of information on upcoming ITV programmes. It still exists today, interestingly enough, if you’re curious to know what Series 769 episode of The Jeremy Kyle Show will be on next week at three in the morning.

Still, as with Pages from Ceefax, there’s an insanely soothing easy listening soundtrack, pretty much making this the drugless alternative to a sleeping tablet. It’ll get you snoring in ten minutes, I promise. That or your money back. If you were paying me, of course, which you aren’t. I’m nice that way.
