Braganza Ghat in Peak Monsoon | EMD Action in Western Ghats

July 2022.

In memory of my dear friend and ace railfan Prithvi Raj, who accompanied me on this memorable 5km trackside hike into the dense jungle.

We were so hyped after shooting each of these trains and checking how the videos turned out that all concerns of our exhaustion and rain-soaked gear were forgotten. He mentioned that these would look "sakkath" on the big screen aka here on YouTube and that I should upload them soon. Unfortunately I got too busy with other videos and have ended up uploading........not soon enough.

I wish he could watch his favourite Hubli and Gutthi EMDs doing what they do best from my perspective, in a place he was so excited to be that day. I can only wish.

This is a slow-and-steady video montage of the EMD beasts that rule this region, as they make their way through the Braganza Ghat section which connects Castle Rock and Kulem stations, with the mesmerising Dudhsagar Falls also part of the ghat journey.

The first passenger train is Vasco-Jasidih Express, while the second one is Vasco-Shalimar Amaravati Express, both hauled by ex-Hubli Gooty EMDs.
