Chef Dom’s Steak Pizzaiola Recipe is a step up from the original version. Chef Dom brings this Steak alla Pizzaiola to a whole new level by adding one-inch-thick ribeye steaks and an array of fresh vegetables!

Steak Pizzaiola or Carne all Pizzaiola translates as "meat pizza style". Originating from Naples it traditionally consisted of cheap cuts of meat served in a rich tomato sauce with lots of garlic, onion, bell peppers and oregano.

The ribeye cut really sets this dish apart for the others, but you can also use sirloin, flank, or flat-iron skirt steak for this recipe. I recommend reducing the cooking time for these other cuts of meat. But, once you try this recipe using the ribeye’s, you will be hooked. Cooking them Pizzaiola style made the steak very, very tender to where the meat melted in my mouth.

Ingredients:

4 one-inch thick Ribeyes
56 oz. of whole pair tomatoes
4 tbsp. of Olive Oil
8 cloves of fresh garlic
1 lager onions
bell peppers (1 red & 1 orange)
1 cup of sliced mushrooms
1/4 cup of romano cheese
oregano (tbsp. fresh or 1/2 tbsp. of dried)
10 leaves of fresh basil leaves
salt & Pepper
