Aurora - Dutch pour on grey Base paint

Hi and welcome back to my channel - still haven’t plucked up the courage to voice over my videos yet! I’ll get there eventually :)

Named Aurora, this is one of my favourite pieces of the last few months! I was playing around with different colour combinations, adding in and taking out colours to get the right look, I think I found it with this! I think I had too much base paint down as the grey does come through the colours a little too much for my liking, but I like the effect of the circle without a defined sphere in the middle as I’ve been painting lately.

All paints, both base and colours are mixed with water a floetrol (European owatrol) with a ratio of 2:1:1 (owatrol/paint/water). The base was a custom grey which was left over paint from previous paintings which were varying gradients of grey. I doubt I could mix this shade!!

Colours used - Amsterdam Permanent Blue Violet, Arteza Pearl white and electric blue and Pebeo iridescent blue green and iridescent green blue

I am going to try this again, possibly on a different base colour to see how much of a difference it makes. I’m not fond of black or white bases, there’s a lot of colours out there!
