Nylon Washer SUCCESS! - Experimental BlackBird Arm Impact Sprinkler - Watch This Difference!

This is the same experimental Sprinkler in the last video, except there is one little piece of nylon washer added to the top of the two o-rings that were already there on the journal tube. The big test was what I was waiting for, and when the water started I saw the success I was waiting for. These are all 50 year old parts from various sprinklers, except the o-rings and the new nylon washer that I added.

I purchased an expensive package of thin nylon washers and knew they would not fit exactly. So I could not wait to try one and knew it would be a little bit to big for the outside diameter. I even tested it in the coupler that the sprinkler would normally screw into. So I first tried to use a dremel type bit to sand it down, but that was kind of slow, so I decided to try something different and used a pair of scissors to nip the edges and although it is not perfectly round like what we might expect, it was trimmed enough to keep it from rubbing against the inside of the coupling when you screw the sprinkler in to the coupler. The results are a big SUCCESS! Thank you for watching this small change yet big results.
