Loïs Rancilhac has done a PhD at the university of Braunschweig in Germany, followed by postdocs at the universities of Uppsala (Sweden) and Cyprus, and now at the MNCN in Madrid. His work focuses on using genomics to elucidate evolutionary histories and speciation mechanisms in reptiles and birds. He is also very interested in the genomic basis of plumage coloration in birds, and its role in speciation.
