Poole Model Railway Exhibition - 15th October 2023

The Poole Model Railway Exhibition was held by the Poole & District Model Railway Society at Poole Grammar School in Poole on the 15th October 2023. A great show filled with a variety of layouts as well as a few traders.

The layouts featured in the videos are as follows:
1) Los Tanimals - Based in America

2) Henderson Nevada - An unfinished layout based in Henderson in Nevada, USA.

3) Bridgebury Gate - A fictional town set somewhere in the south of England, not too far from the West Country, some time between 1966 and 2000.

4) Unnamed layout - The name for the layout was to be decided after the show once members of the public had submitted their entries.

5) SGK Bahn - The Saxeten Gemeinde Karren-bahn is set in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland around the village of Saxeten. The line opened in 1890.

6) Ramsgate Sands - It is based on a real location (Ramsgate Harbour) and set in the 1950s, with a timetable run exactly to the 1950s BR Sunday timetable.

7) Minington Central Tramway - Originally built by Tim Froome back in the early 1990's meaning this layout is 30 years old. After a period of time it was carefully restored and the time period is now based on the 1900 - 1920s.

8) Benbridge - A fictitious layout based on the Cotswolds and is controlled by DCC. The name of the layout comes from a former member of the club who sadly passed away. He made the bridge to the left of the layout and his name was Ben.

9) Freight Trains - A short layout consisting of four large diesel freight trains with sound.

10) Fleet Lane - A fictitious steam locomotive shed based loosely on the former shed at Weymouth which was coded 71G and then 70G by the Southern Region of British Railways.

11) Eldon's Sidings - An exchange sidings half a mile north of Corfe Castle station where ball clay from Benjamin Fayles mine was trans-shipped from the company's 3' 9" gauge tramway to the Swanage branch of the LSWR.
