Thomson is an area that consists of natural parks, reservoirs and MRT lines, also home to the former Phua Village and Hainan Village. TV celebrity Pan Ling Ling and many old residents affected by relocations still miss their kampong homes. The daughter of a Hainanese merchant who built a rambutan garden at today's Thomson Nature Park also holds fond memory of the site.

汤申区覆盖了河流、自然公园和蓄水池，还有两条地铁线。这里也曾有两个村落--潘家村和海南村，虽然景物已非，艺人潘玲玲和被迫搬迁的村人仍然怀念潘家村的老家；海南人韩槐准建造的愚趣园盛产红毛丹，也一直是他女儿忘不了的寻梦园。
