Описание к видео Centering Prayer Timer, with Introduction and Closing Lord's Prayer by Thomas Keating

This video may be used for a 20-minute session of Centering Prayer led by Fr. Thomas Keating.

Here are the basic guidelines for this contemplative prayer practice:

1. Choose a sacred word as the symbol of your intention to consent to God’s presence and action within.

2. Sitting comfortably and with eyes closed, settle briefly and silently introduce the sacred word as the symbol of your intention to consent to God’s presence and action within.

3. When engaged with thoughts, return ever-so-gently to the sacred word.

4. At the end of the prayer period, remain in silence with eyes closed for a couple of minutes.

In this video, for step 4, Fr. Thomas leads the Lord's Prayer.

This was recorded in Austin, Texas in 2009.
