The Best 55 Plus Communities In Richmond Va | Part 2 South Of The River | Over 55 Communities

This is part 2 to our Best 55 Plus Communities in Richmond video, and part 2 focuses on 55+ communities south of the James River in Richmond Virginia. Between part 1 and part 2 you will get to see a total of 12 55+ age restricted communities and we are certain there is one that will speak to you. In this video you will get to see the water front community of Heron Pointe at Swift Creek, the luxury 55+ community of Bel Crest, Lake Margaret with it’s 1+ acre lots which is a rare find for 55+ communities, and then some more traditional 55+ communities like Kenbrook, Greenwich Walk, and Traditions of America Chesterfield.

We start by showing you the water front community of Heron Pointe. We love this community because of it’s gorgeous backdrop and water views with the Swift Creek Reservoir. A majority of the homes were built by Eagle Construction so these are quality built homes, and the yard sizes are slightly larger than some of the other communities within this video.
Next we show you a very unique 55+ community which is section 1 of Lake Margaret. In Lake Margaret it’s also possible to get a home with water views of the lake, but every home gets a very large 1+ acre lot and we think that is the most compelling reason to choose this community over another. The other sections of Lake Margaret are not age restricted, but if you can handle arranging for your own lawn care then those sections could work for you too.
We then visit the Bel Crest neighborhood which is a beautiful, luxury, custom built age restricted community and it’s location is excellent. We love the beautiful exteriors and curb appeal of the homes, plus the nearby amenities and attactions are out of this world. The downside to this particular community is that it is very, very expensive.

Transitioning into the more typical 55+ communities we start with the Kenbrook section of Harpers Mill. These are all newer construction homes and Harpers Mill provides wonderful HOA amenities, but keep in mind you will be sharing those amenities with the rest of the community which is not age restricted.

After that we show you Greenwich Walk which offers condos, townhomes, and single family patio homes and has it’s own HOA provided amenities including a very nice clubhouse and pool, plus a pond and pickle ball courts. It is definitely more cookie cutter and we dislike the shared driveways many of the patio homes share, but the price and location are compelling.

Lastly we show you a brand new 55+ community that is still being developed by Traditions of America. We have high hopes for this community and do think that it will be a popular choice among those seeking brand new construction and very nice amenities (but you will have to wait for those amenities to be developed).
