Perform the Kapotasana asana using ropes

Описание к видео Perform the Kapotasana asana using ropes

Ever wondered why there are ropes in yoga studios and what they are used for? Shayna Ogden from Ballarat Iyengar Yoga (https://www.ballaratyoga.com.au) in Victoria, Australia demostrates performing an asanas using wall ropes. The ropes, like the other props, assist in learning the asanas by: giving correct adjustments or alignment to the body, opening and lengthening the body, allowing the practitioner to go deeper into the pose and to enable the student to stay longer in the pose than they normally would.

The work in the ropes is referred to as "yoga karunta". Refer to video link below also for a a short description by Geeta on the use of ropes to "create freedom inside the body and break the barriers of the mind".    • Dr. Geeta S. Iyengar on Yoga Kurunta ...

It was our Thursday backbend practice and we were working on kapotasana (once again) - it has become a bit of a project.
