Pianist Mantas Šernius was born in Lithuania, in 1994.

In 2001, he began his piano studies at the music school in Druskininkai (Lithuania) under the tutelage of Natalia Sokolenko. At the age of fifteen, he moved to Kaunas where he studied with Birute Kumpikienė. After graduation, he continued his studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Prof. Fali Pavri. Since 2015, Mantas is studying at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Prof. Ivari Ilja where at the moment he is doing his PhD studies, moreover, in 2020/2021 Mantas did masters degree of chamber music with Prof. Marje Lohuaru.

The young pianist receives a scholarship from the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein, and participates in the intensive music weeks held there. He has attended masterclasses held by renowned professors, such as Arie Vardi, Dmitri Bashkirov, Claudio Martinez-Mehner, Boris Berman, Владимир Овчинников Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Andrei Gavrilov, Dmitri Alexeev, Vladimir Viardo, Alexander Kobrin, Vladimir Tropp, Anna Malikova, Steven Osborne, Petras Geniusas, Mira Marchenko, Phillip Shovk, Daming Zhu, Tian Ying, Artur Pizarro, Joan Havill, Cédric Tiberghien, Vera Nosina, Nina Seriogina, and many others.

He is a laureate of many International Piano and Chamber Music Competitions including International Piano Competition "Music Without Limits" (Lithuania, 2005) - Grand Prix;
International Piano Competition "Kaunas Sonorum" (Lithuania, 2011) - II prize; European Music Competition „Citta di Moncalieri“ (Italy, 2012) - I prize; International Chamber Ensembles Competition in Riga (Latvia, 2012) - I prize, International Music Competition eMuse (Greece, 2018) – I prize, International Piano Competition in memorial of P. I. Tchaikovsky (China, 2019) – I prize, 9th Estonian Piano Competition (Estonia, 2019) - I prize.
Mantas has performed in many countries such as Portugal, Finland, China, Sweden, Germany, Latvia, Croatia, Lithuania, Estonia and United Kingdom as a soloist and as a member of a chamber ensemble.

Mantas was supported by Roderick Ford Tuck Foundation for talented children and Saulius Karosas Charity and Support foundation. In 2014, he was awarded by Else and Leonard Cross Scholarship and, in 2017, he was awarded by prestigious Yamaha Music Foundation Europe Scholarship.

Mantas has performed with the EAMT Symphony Orchestra and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra orchestras and collaborated with conductors Arvo Volmer, Jaan Ots and Paul Mägi.

In 2005 and 2013, Mantas has received an award by Prime Minister and President of Lithuania for achievements at International Competitions.
