Exercise is vitally important and gets even more essential as we age. However, immobility is a big problem with peripheral neuropathy patients, which can result in muscle atrophy or shrinkage, muscle weakness, tightening of the muscles leading to decreased flexibility and a loss of balance and coordination.

Increasing movement and blood flow is essential for nerve tissue repair and regeneration because it increases the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the nerves.

But let’s face it, your pain and symptoms can make walking or exercising next to impossible.

So, Dr M & I have developed two main types of exercises that any peripheral neuropathy sufferer will be able to perform, regardless of the severity of their condition.

In this video, we’ll cover balance and strengthening exercises.
These exercises will help prevent dangerous falls that you’ve become prone to and it will help improve your muscle strength. As an added bonus, these exercises will also help increase your energy and reduce your symptoms, because any and all exercises promote an endorphin release. These are our happy, feel-good hormones and I know every neuropathy sufferer can use a bit of feel good.
