Dr. Kumar began his career in ISRO in the year 1975. He contributed significantly in design & development of sensors in Bhaskara, Chandrayaan-1, among other missions.

In this interview, Dr. A S Kiran Kumar talks about how ASTROSAT satellite has proved India's space capabilities in the world. He also said that ISRO’s immediate priority is to benefit the community.

In recognition of its services, President Pranab Mukherjee presented ISRO with the Gandhi Peace Prize-2014.
