TVNZ 1 was launched as NZBC TV on 1st June 1960, the first national television channel in New Zealand. It also broadcasts in Tokelau, Cook Islands, and Niue. Relaunched as Television One on 1st April 1975, a second channel was launched on 30th June 1975 as TV2 (now TVNZ 2). TVNZ 1+1 was launched to Freeview and Sky customers from 1 July 2012 as TV ONE Plus 1. It is a channel with a one-hour time shift of the TVNZ 1 Auckland feed.
