Trooper's Report:

On March 13, 2021, at approximately 1720 hours, I was patrolling on Ga-61 near Ithica Gin Road. While patrolling, Iobserved a black incolor motorcycle improperly and abruptly change lanes from the left lane to the right lane without using a turn signal. t h e n observed the motorcycle turn right
onto Ithica Gin Road, then right onto S Vanwert Road without using a turn signal. I followed behind the motorcycle preparing to conduct a traffic stop on it. As Iwas preparing to turn onto S Vanwert Road, I observed the driver, later identified as a Mr. Leverette, turn around and look at my patrol car. I then observed the motorcycle begin passing vehicles in a no passing zone and traveling at a high rate of speed. I initiated my emergency equipment and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the motorcycle.
The motorcycle continued traveling north on S Vanwert Road at a high rate of speed. I advised my dispatch that Iwas attempting to conduct a traffic stop on the motorcycle. Iobserved the motorcycle continuing north on S Vanwert Road and passing other vehicles in no passing zones. I observed the motorcycle pass multiple vehicles in a no passing zone while failing to stop at the stop sign on S Vanwert Road at the intersection of Hickory Level Road.
After traveling through the intersection of Hickory Level Road, Iobserved the motorcycle continue traveling north on S Vanwert Road at a high rate of speed. Iobserved the motorcycle pass multiple vehicles ni a no passing zone. Iadvised my dispatch that Iwas ni an active pursuit. I continued pursuing the motorcycle on S Vanwert Road to the intersection of Rocky Branch Road. I
observed the motorcycle turn right onto Rocky Branch Road at a high rate of speed. Iturned right onto Rocky Branch Road behind the motorcycle.
Iobserved the motorcycle traveling at a recklessly high rate of speed while on Rocky Branch Road. While behind the motorcycle on Rocky Branch Road, Iobserved M.r Leverette turn around and look at my patrol car in what appeared as fi he was seeing fi I was still pursuing him. After M.r Leverette turned around an looked at my patrol car, he began accelerating even more. Ipursued M.r Leverette to the intersection of Wall Street while on Rocky Branch Road.
I observed the motorcycle turn right onto Wall Street from Rocky Branch Road. I turned right onto Wall Street and continued pursuing Mr. Leverette. I pursued Mr. Leverette while on Wall Street to the intersection of Clearview Street. I observed Mr. Leverette turn right onto Clearview Street. I turned
right onto Clearview Street behind Mr. Leverette and continued pursuing him. While on Clearview
Street, I observed Mr. Leverette turn around once again and look back at my patrol car to see if I was
still pursuing him.
I continued pursuing Mr. Leverette on Clearview Street to its dead end at the intersection of
Meadowlark Drive. I observed Mr. Leverette continuing traveling straight onto a dirt parking lot behind
Villa Rica High School. I continued pursuing Mr. Leverette on the dirt parking lot behind Villa Rica High
School. As Mr. Leverette began to turn onto a paved driveway from the dirt parking lot behind Villa
Rica High School, I observed him loose control of the motorcycle and the motorcycle slide onto its side.
I stopped my patrol car and exited from the drivers side door.
I approached Mr. Leverette and drew my issued taser. I observed Mr. Leverette get up from the
ground and attempt to stand the motorcycle back up in its upright position. It appeared to me that Mr.
Leverette was going to get back on the motorcycle and attempt to flee from me once again. I began
giving Mr. Leverette verbal commands to put his hands up in the air in which he did not comply. I
discharged my issued taser at this time. My taser deployment was effective on Mr. Leverette and
incapacitated him.
I placed Mr. Leverette in hand cuffs and under arrest at this time. I stood Mr. Leverette up and
placed him at the front of my patrol car. While at the front of my patrol car, I noticed that Mr. Leverette
was bleeding from his elbow. I advised my dispatch to call and have EMS in route to my location to
check Mr. Leverettes injuries. Trooper Allen applied bandages to Mr. Leverettes elbow. EMS
personnel arrived on scene and checked Mr. Leverettes injuries. Mr. Leverette advised EMS personnel
that he did not want to got to the hospital.
Mr. Leverettes girlfriend and sister arrived on scene. Mr. Leverette asked me if he could release
his personal belongings to his girlfriend. Mr. Leverettes personal belongings were released to his
girlfriend. I placed Mr. Leverette in the backseat of my patrol car. The motorcycle was released to
Mayfields Wrecker which was the assigned towing company. I transported Mr. Leverette to the Carroll
County Jail. Mr. Leverette was released to Carroll County Jail personnel without further incident.
