This home butt workout shows you how to switch on and start strengthening the two largest butt (glute) muscles; gluteus maximus and gluteus medius. These glute exercises also strengthen the hips and the pelvis (sacroiliac joints). This Physiotherapist guided routine focuses on teaching you the correct exercise technique starting without using weights. This exercise routine can be practiced for approximately two weeks at home before progressing the exercises using resistance equipment.

The butt workout in this routine includes:
*Clam exercises lying on your side to activate and strengthen the glute medius muscles.
*Hip bridge (hip thrust) exercises lying on your back lifting and lowering your buttocks on and off the floor to activate and strengthen the largest gluteus maximus butt muscles.
*Side lying leg raises with toes turned downwards to exercise the gluteus medius alternating with toes turned up and outwards for the gluteus maximus muscles.
*Concludes with gentle glute stretches lying down.

This butt workout for beginners can be performed 3-4 times a week or daily if preferred. Start doing the number of exercises that feel comfortable for your body. When starting out, gradually increase how many exercises you do up to 10-15 repetitions for each exercise according to your strength, endurance and personal comfort during the exercises.
