Connecting the Dots: Calcium, Vitamin D3/K2, Mechanism of action

Описание к видео Connecting the Dots: Calcium, Vitamin D3/K2, Mechanism of action

Introduction:

Vitamin K2 helps move calcium into the proper areas in the body, such as bones and teeth, and removes calcium from areas where it should not be, such as arteries and soft tissues.

Vitamin K2 deficiency may lead to chronic diseases, including osteoporosis and atherosclerosis.

Vitamin K2 works together with vitamin D to increase Matrix GLA Protein (MGP), which protects blood vessels from calcification.

Calcium's Dark Side:

Without vitamin K2, the body cannot direct calcium to the bones, leading to a combination of osteoporosis and atherosclerosis, known as the "calcium paradox."

Vitamin K2 deficiency can produce symptoms of vitamin D toxicity, including inappropriate calcification and hardening of arteries.

-Taking vitamin D without sufficient vitamin K2 can potentially cause harm by not properly directing calcium.
