I've always opted to do the strength workout first regardless of which order it may be. Strength isn't necessarily a strength in my game...pun not intended. I wanted to try and get 5-10 at the 245lb bar and eas able to get in that range. The workout doesn't really begin until the 225lb bar. At that point, I'm just trying to stay steady and not jump the gun to miss a lift. I already know the elite will most likely get between 25-35+ reps at that 245lb. For me, it's about my max Power Clean and Push jerk, so it was all I could do to get 3 per minute. I also went with singles out the gate so that it didn't become a heart rate workout. It's essentially a heavy Grace ladder before you even get to the final bar. You're only going to get 7 total minutes of work. So I hoped to get half of that at the final bar. 10 Minute rolling clock for Max reps of 10 Clean and jerks at 135lb, rest 1 minute, 10 clean and jerks at 185lb, rest 1 minute, 10 clean and jerks at 225lb, rest 1 minute, Max reps in remaining time of clean and jerks at 245lb. Finished with 39 total reps RX.
