Strictly Bicycles Thanksgiving Ride 2023

This is all the video I shot on my bike from the 2023 Strictly Bicycles Thanksgiving Day Ride (November 23, 2023). A lot of the video I shot was inadvertent. I assumed the camera was off when it was, in fact, recording. I figured it couldn't hurt to share what I got here.

My normalized power for the ride was 192w. A lot of that comes from the climbs going back south down 9w. Just about all the video I captured was from the 1st half of the ride. Things got spicy and spread out from the big downhill at hour 1 onward.

1:48 Traffic cone that almost caused a wreck

9:00 a good look at the size of the field

9:20 a good example of how obstructions on the right side of the road led to people being pushed out to the left

16:50 me agreeing with a fellow cyclist calling for a more steady pace in the peloton. There was a fair amount of surging and slowing.

18:50 a nice little downhill

21:40 the start of another nice downhill

35:03 Triplet bianchi bikes

37:20 the start of another nice downhill

47:15 this turn must have felt crazy for the driver's in the turning lane on the opposite side

52:50 a conversation with Pat from MTDT about the proper pronunciation of the bike manufacturer bianchi. What's funny here is that he's not riding a bianchi bike but rather an S works bike painted in bianchi blue.

56:20 a conversation with a different pat from MTDT about an outward Boeing of my knee that he observed.

1:00:51 - a truly glorious downhill

1:06:46 - There was an accident in the front peloton. It is my understanding that the person who had the accident is ok. I kept going solo because I needed to get home for thanksgiving dinner :/
