EDINBURG, TEXAS — UTRGV vs Texas

The Texas women's basketball team improved to 12-0 with an 104-51 victory over UTRGV on Wednesday at Bert Ogden Arena. Junior point guard Rori Harmon became the fifth player in program history to record 500 career assists. Harmon did it in 79 games to become the fastest UT women's basketball player to get to 500 assists.

Harmon sent the ball into DeYona Gaston at the 5:06 mark of the third quarter to record assist number 500. Harmon tallied 12 points, eight assists and five rebounds for the game. Harmon now has 501 career assists and 94 assists for the season.

Seven Texas players scored in double figures in the game and all 12 players that saw action scored in the game.

Harmon, Shaylee Gonzales, DeYona Gaston and Aaliyah Moore scored 12 points apiece for the Longhorns. Shay Holle recorded 11 points and Madison Booker and Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda scored 10 each. Gisella Maul tallied a season-high six assists.

Next up the Longhorns host Jackson State on Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 7:00 p.m. CT at Moody Center.
