If I had to name a "capital city" at Lake Balaton I would definitely vote for Balatonfüred. This little city is simply breathtaking. Attracts a lot of tourists each year. If you are by any means into ice-cream🍦, you should try the one at 'Lavender' on the promenade. It tastes like heaven.

Füred is located on the northern side of Balaton, opposite to Zamárdi on the other side of the lake. Yes. If you are wondering why Zamárdi is familiar to you, it's because it is home to the famous festival, Balaton Sound. 😉
