Nickel Brook Fresh Maple Porter with special guest

The legend himself, A Beer A Day With TK joins me for another beer review. We were probably a little fluthered but I hope it was good entertainment for everyone! I picked up Fresh Maple Porter from the LCBO across from History in Toronto in December 2023. The video was recorded in June of 2024 for the beer was a little old, but for a porter it was definitely not out of date. As I was a few beers deep I totally knobhead poured the beers. With that being said, the beer poured out a midnight black with a nice tan head. The head dissipated quickly for TK but lingered in my glass. Surprisingly the beer did not have much on the nose. Maybe some slight roasted malt smell with some sweetness, but it was very faint. The body was medium with some nice slickness to it. The flacours were chocolaty, coffee and some faint maple. I expected a stronger maple flavor like the flavor of maple syrup you would put on waaaafles. The maple flavor was subdued and overall the beer was well rounded. This was an excellent beer! I hope our furthered ramblings were entertaining and my old lady laughed at the butt kicking comment...then I slept on the couch.
