Bright Sandstorm/Camping in Solm (Fire Emblem Engage) Jazz Cover - Joe Landry

Bringing some jazz to Solm with some of the hardest bass and drum parts I've written for myself!

I love the motif that is used throughout Solm, it's very hopeful and the second I heard it, I knew it was the one I would cover. It is a very complex theme though! It navigates between 4 different tonalities and the melody never repeats itself, every section is fairly different from the previous one. For my arrangement, I decided to turn the B section into a fast swing kinda feel with a walking bass line, which was very hard to perform. It took me about 6 hours to get the bass and drum parts in one take! The saxophone solo was a bit difficult to figure out too. With the tonality changing constantly and the amount of chords, it was hard to improvise fast licks. Anyways, I hope you guys have a good time listening to this cover.
