ZWIFT : RACE : HERD BEGINNER RACES (USING RACING SCORE) - ELECTRIC LOOP - 14/07/2024 - FIRST WIN!!

Thought I would try another race with the new racing score entry system.

Range for this race was 375 - 450 and I went in at 396 on this one.

Once again tactics were I was simply going to race and hopefully not come last.

Noticed before race started when checking my setup that my Tron frame was equipped but the wheels didn't have a tick against them, just said NEW item?

I selected them, tick was now against the TRON wheels.

I thought once the TRON frame was equipped so were the wheels????

Not sure if this was just a placebo effect knowing that the correct wheels were now assigned but I found the bike to perform much better than previous races and rides?

Left the pen and a rider started to get a little distance ahead of me so I closed the gap and then passed.

I thought said rider would stay with me but didn't so I continued at my current pace / speed and started to pull away?

What do I do now, do I try and make a break away and get as much distance between me and everyone else or see what happens next?

I decided to make a break for it and get some distance between me and rest of the riders and it paid off.

I ended up completing race on my own, in first place the whole way round.

Was cruising in gears 14 and 13 for most of it, pushing every now and then to try and increase / keep the gap I was ahead by.

Was not going too crazy so I didn't run out of energy, even took it easier on the final lap once I knew I had a decent enough lead and I had the first place finishing position.

The only reason I would not get the gold by this point was if I had a technical issue (drop out / power cut etc).

This is my first ever Gold (1st place podium position) since I have been racing.

I also bagged a new Tower Sprint PR, to be totally honest I wasn't really going for the sprints so this was a fluke.

Really pleased with how the race went but in the back of my mind I could not help but think I won because the other riders had been entered at a lower racing score (nearer the 375 marker), and the scoring system had failed?

Checking afterwards this race was classed as a B Cat? don't really think this was a B cat race.

I was only pushing C cat figures and the other riders were C cat also (I checked afterwards).
