Pentatonix - Evergreen VOCAL RANGE

Описание к видео Pentatonix - Evergreen VOCAL RANGE

I totally meant to upload this right after Thanksgiving and that's why I took too long. It's not like it actually took me a long time to do this and I'm putting it out very late. Oh well.

Well hello again :) PTX has a new record out, so here's the expected!

Scott: F2 in "All I Want for Christmas Is You"
Mitch: Eb3 in "My Heart With You"
Kirstin: F#3 in "Wonderful Christmastime"

HIGHEST CHEST/MIXED NOTE:

Kevin: G4 in "Evergreen"
Scott: Bb4 in "The Prayer"
Mitch: C5 in "The Prayer"
Kirstin: E5 in "Over the River"

HIGHEST NOTE:
Matt: F#4 in "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear"
Kevin: D5 in "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas"
Scott: F#5 in "I Saw Three Ships"
Mitch: F#5 in "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear"
Kirstin: A5 in "Home for the Holidays"

MY THOUGHTS: This record has admittedly grown on me. I was put down by the, at this point, PTX formula of a lot of the songs in the tracklist (Home for the Holidays, Little Saint Nick, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, etc), but I learned to appreciate the gems that came along with this album. Over the River, Evergreen and My Heart With You are a few of the songs that feel new and not only are they instant faves, but they spice up their Holiday music when it feels like it's gotten to a place where their normal arrangements no longer feel that special or distinguishable from the others. As for the voices, I'm pretty content with it. Certainly not as range-y as their last Christmas album, but every soloist gets their time to shine and they all sound fantastic in it. A highlight in this album is the weight that Scott puts into his lower register around the end of the third octave, especially apparent in The Prayer, which I hope he keeps utilizing in future material. Mitch's gorgeous chest voice gets plenty of time to shine with his solos sprinkled over I Saw Three Ships, The Prayer and It Came Upon a Midnight Clear. Kirstie is also taking on more higher harmonies and has what I believe is her first studio A5 in Pentatonix, hurray! TLDR, it's definitely a nice record. I personally would have wanted them to lean on the experimental side even more, but I appreciate the new sound that a few of this songs brings to the table and I'm eager to see them performing some of these on tour.
Favorite: "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear"
Least: "Frosty the Snowman"

As usual, make sure to tell me if anything is wrongly labeled or if I missed anything, oops. Enjoy!
