Big Ruckus Clone in Factory Camo: Leike (Similar to SSR Rowdy)

Описание к видео Big Ruckus Clone in Factory Camo: Leike (Similar to SSR Rowdy)

A major motorcycle magazine said the Big ruckus looked like a piece of Russian farm machinery. I find it far more appealing than another "me-too" boring plastic scooter.
The Honda Big Ruckus, sold in the US 2005-2006, has been copied by numerous Chinese factories, substituting the 250cc water-cooled Honda engine with a 125-250cc air-cooled engine, usually the long case GY6. It's commonly repeated that this engine was developed by Honda, though I have found no evidence of that, and can't find any Honda product which used this engine. Nevertheless, this is a solid powerplant. The quality of the other components is at the discretion of the workshop that assembles the bike, and can be expected to be lower than the equivalent Honda parts. The wiring will be of lighter gauge, the tires smaller, the plastics softer, etc. Quality control and crating cannot be expected to match a Japanese or Taiwanese bike. This is a tradeoff that you have to accept in order to save 60-80% over the cost of a Honda.
I have highlighted a few of the quirky features of the Big Ruckus and its clones in this 12-minute video. I did not make it for public distribution, but for a prospective buyer. I expect to sell it to on July 23, 2022.
The reason you should watch this video is that it may be the only one made by an owner of both an original Big Ruckus and a clone.
To my knowledge this style has not been sold under any name (like SSR Rowdy, King Kong or Puma) for at least 5 years, but it is likely still being built in multiple Chinese factories. If you know of a US source for these in 2022 and beyond, please comment.
Because of the principle of natural distribution, there are certainly examples which have performed well for hundreds of miles. Feel free to attack me in the comments. I could have devoted a video to the fixes I had to perform on this bike to make it semi-reliable, such as replacing a number of parts broken in shipping with Honda parts, or removing the screw that pierced and shorted the turn signal wiring, but this is just an overview, not a documentary.
Thanks for watching.
