The major cause of paralysis is brain stroke. It mainly occurs when there is an interruption in the blood supply to the brain, due to brain hemorrhage or brain infarct. These strokes are mainly caused due to a clot or blockage in the blood vessel in your brain.

This video demonstrates some easy & simple arm exercises for stroke/paralysis patients.

All you need is – A table, a small stick, and two bottles

1). Inner Arm Stretch Exercise – Keep your palms down on the table. Keep your hand straight, and put your body weight on your wrist/fingers. This helps you to open your fingers, movement in your shoulders, and helps to keep your elbow straight. You can do this exercise in both standing and sitting positions. Hold onto this position for 30 seconds. And, repeat this exercise 3 times.

2). Finger Stretch Exercise – Put your hand in the corner of the table. And open your fist downwards or try to stretch your fingers (as shown in the video). This exercise is helpful for wrist & finger contraction. Continuously, open & close your fist slowly. Open your fist with the help of your second hand. This will increase the range of your stretching power.

Intermediate Level Exercises:-

3). Elbow Movement Exercise – Hold a piece of stick with your hands and move your elbow up & down slowly.

4). Elbow Stretch Exercise – Keep your palms down on the table. And, extend your hands on the table. It will help to extend your shoulder & elbow. You can also do this exercise with the help of a towel. You can do this exercise 3 times for 10 seconds.

5). Wrist Movement Exercises – Hold two bottles in both your hands. Move your wrist up and down slowly. Try to do 3 sets of this exercise with 10 times up& down movement in each set.

Repetition is also beneficial for paralysis patients to regain their muscle movement, strength, & coordination. You need to practice with your muscles repetitively. You have to take a proper diet plan, take medicines by SRIAAS, and consult Dr. Puru Dhawan for a free Ayurvedic Medical Consultation.
