Present, past, and perfect continuous tense Explained in Nepali -English Hub

Today we are going to talk about perfect continuous tense in Nepali. There are three parts of perfect continuous tense in English: Present perfect continuous tense, past perfect continuous tense, and future perfect continuous tense. Perfect continuous tense is widely used in English. In this lesson, we will learn the tense step by step. I will help you to understand tenses in the easiest way. Present perfect continuous tense
Present perfect continuous tense is mostly used to talk about things that had happened in the past and it is still happening in the present.

Here are some examples of present perfect continuous tense in Nepali:
I have been learning English since January.
(म जनवरीदेखि अंग्रेजी सिक्दै आइरहेकी छु। )
She has been helping me for 2 days.
(ऊनी मलाई दुई दिनदेखि सहयोग गर्दै आइरहेकी छिन् ।)

Past perfect continuous tense
Past perfect continuous tense is mainly used to talk about things that were happening in the past and also ended in the past.

Here are some examples of Past perfect continuous tense in Nepali:
She had been teaching me.(उनि मलाई पढाउदै आइरहेकी थिइन्।)
We had been cooking for 1 hour. (हामी एक घण्टादेखि पकाउदै आइरहेका थियौँ।)

Future perfect continuous tense
Future perfect continuous tense is mainly used to talk about things that haven’t taken place yet but will be happening in the future.

Example of future perfect continuous tense:
I will have been studying at the university.
(म विश्वविद्यालयमा पढ्दै आइरहेको हुनेछु।)
She will have been working at a company.
(उनि एउटा कम्पनिमा काम गर्दै आइरहेको हुनेछिन् ।)
