In this discourse, Om Swami talks about the first nine houses in an individual’s birth chart. The first house is used to determine the self. The second house determines the wealth( assets), speech and expression. The third house is about the confidence, valour, immediate environment, siblings, how motivated a person is, and the people serving this individual like (employees, servants etc). The fourth house governs comforts. Material comforts like cars, houses and benefit from brothers. The immovable assets are also gauged from this house. The fifth house determines children and education. The sixth house enemies and diseases. Sometimes this is used to calculate hurdles. The seventh house is the house of the spouse, in-laws, long term relationships of intimate nature. Sometimes business partnerships are also calculated by some astrologers from this house. The eighth house determines death and its cause, chronic diseases, and sudden losses. Longevity can also be ascertained from this house. The ninth house is destiny, long journeys and it determines if a person will be away from their motherland for long or short periods.
