The XK8 was the Car That Saved Jaguar From Mediocrity and is a Beautiful Homage to the E-Type

SOLD I think the Jaguar XK is very underrated - not only is it as reliable as any of its competition, it has classic good looks, excellent road handling, and potent V8 power. The curves and styling are distinctly Jaguar, as is the beautiful wood and leather interior that looks, feel, and smells like a classic.

These cars showed that Ford could enhance Jaguar without corrupting it, and that the overall product would be better for their input. Cars went together precisely at assembly, needing no 2nd and 3rd round of fitting and adjusting to get everything right. Ford switchgear and Bosch electronics brought stability and reliability to a former Jaguar weak spot, and a ZF transmission coupled to Jaguar's then new AJ-V8 proved a winning combination.

These cars are already showing up at collector car auctions, and prices are edging upward. This is exactly as it should be - this car is far better than most people realize, and one of the last true Jags that can be easily maintained by a collector/owner/enthusiast.
