作者在一九八二年擷取臺灣民歌素材編寫的作品《臺灣組曲》的第二段，透過組曲描寫並歌頌高山族勤勞勇敢的特質和豐富多彩的生活，並藉此表現台灣高山民歌的美麗，部份旋律改編自阿美族傳統歌謠「杵舞」（月光舞）。運用木琴等打擊樂器，模擬了原住民部落中善於使用敲擊樂器的特性。節奏分明有致、曲風輕快活潑，展現了原住民粗獷爽朗的個性色彩，最終在一片熱鬧中結束。

In 1982, the composer extracted the second movement of his work, "Suite of Taiwan", based on the materials of Taiwanese folk songs. Celebrating Gaoshan's (mountain tribes) industrious and courageous characteristics, the music depicts their colorful and plentiful life. The melodies are rearranged from traditional Amis folk songs, Stone Pestle Dance (or called Moonlight Dance). Also, the use of xylophone and other orchestra percussion intimates the unique sound of percussion that Taiwanese indigenous people are apt at. The piece is distinctively rhythmic and lively, showcasing indigenous people's rugged and hearty quality, and it finally ends in passionate excitement.
