The 2022 MHSAA Division 3 State Championship Game saw Detroit Martin Luther King defend it's D3 title against the state of Michigan's all-time winningest program, Muskegon.

MLK's All-American signal caller Dante Moore was making his third career finals appearance, and delivered on the biggest stage. He threw for 275 yards and four touchdowns, completing 21 of 26 passes. King Senior, Jameel Croft Jr. returned the opening kickoff 96 yards, and King never trailed on the way to its sixth championship, defeating the Big Reds 56-27.

Evan Stockton (play-by-play) and former University of Michigan wide receiver Grant Perry (analyst) called the game for Bally Sports Detroit.
