Clumping bamboo that thrives in full sun. These clumping bamboo plants are in my garden which is located in the Pacific Northwest near Portland, Oregon (USDA hardiness zone 8b). The plants are Fargesia Robusta and Fargesia Scabrida. I replaced my running bamboo with these plants.

These plants are doing quite well despite their short duration in the location (just over two years) and a very harsh winter for the area.
