THEY'RE COMING... (THE VEIL IS FALLING) | Dark Ambient Exp: 17 | Behringer 2600 | Hydrasynth Deluxe

Hi :-) Welcome to my 17th dark ambient exploration!
This week I wanted to pair up the 2600 and Hydra again because the last time flowed very well (the video is called A TURNING POINT, if you're interested).
In this performance I made a mono voice drone on the Hydra, with glide/portamento turned on... I can't resist making sounds similar to sirens, it's a bit of a fascination for me. Although I'd say this sound on the Hydra is more like an engine working through it's RPMs :-)
The Sound is built from 2 Saw waves and 1 other wavetable style wave from it's bank of waveforms. All 3 (lower engine) oscillators were in single mode and don't sweep through different waves (like a wavetable).

I used all 5 lower engine LFO's to move and modulate the Hydra's filter, oscillator pitches (all different amounts and speeds to create lovely overlaps). 1 LFO changes 2 oscillators pitch but different amounts. Another LFO changes all 3 oscillators pitch very slowly and another LFO slowly sweeps the filter. Other things were modulated and the poly aftertouch boosted the amount of Distortion effect on a pressure curve.

The 2600 used all 3 oscillators as a Saw wave. Plenty of bite to all 6 oscillators across both synths! The 2600 oscillators went straight into the 2600 filter and mixer and then out into the Ventris dual reverb pedal.

I've included quite a bit of on screen notes this time around which I hope you'll find interesting, and I hope it helps anyone that is starting out or wishing to learn to use synths. It's all quite basic compared to many people that really do know their stuff... but I like to share the knowledge that I'm gaining :-)

I added some audio samples in the post production stage after filming the performance... to add some extra interest and depth.
