This lift is situated in a residential building near Solothurn. It has a rather interesting history:

The lift was installed in 1952 when the building was constructed. It was built as an innerdoorless swing door lift with relay controller and W55 machine. The deflector sheave for the floor selector rope can still be seen in the top right corner of the shaft. The W55 machine had two separate motors for fast and slow speeds. This can be determined because the gearbox has flanges at the bottom for motor mounts on both sides.

In 1989 the lift was heavily modernised. All original shaft doors were replaced by new Meiller doors. The W55 machine was overhauled and the motors replaced by a single pole changer AM132 motor.
All electrics were replaced: New Miconic B controller, 2-speed version, new R-Series fixtures.

In the early 2000s, the lift got another slight upgrade: The car panel was replaced by a new D-series panel while the landing fixtures have been kept. The 2-speed drive system got replaced by a Variodyn VF30 VFD, making operation much smoother. The Variodyn drive is controlled by the PTCM board, interfaced with the already existing Miconic B controller.
