Ewhurst Green model railway regularly has running sessions to generate enthusiasm whilst the layout is being constructed (more clips on https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKEb....

Taken from the 'lineside', this is a compilation of Southern Electric stock including visiting blue and blue /grey units for you to enjoy!

Within this compilation is Green 4 CEP 7146 with its unique yellow vertical warning panel (also trialled on a 6L and some ER AC units) running with a 4 BEP. Visiting blue /grey 4 CEP 7113 also features.

Both 2 HAP Phase 1 Batch 1 & Phase 1 Batch 2 units feature - Batch 1 units having roof lighting conduit and 1951-type control gear.

Green and Blue 2 EPB along with Blue /Grey 2 COM suburban units can seen. Due to public disquiet over passenger attacks in compartment stock, the non-facelifted 2 EPB units (retained their compartments) were restricted mainly to peak-hour services from April 1988, being shown in operating publications as 2 COM units

The visiting 2 COM units are nos.6213 & 6259; these being the last pair to survive in service on 13th June 1995 with 6259 being the one chosen for preservation (reverting back to 5759).

Although Bachmann made 2 COM unit no.6238 in this livery, the original unit it did not carry a ‘2 COM’ red cantrail band as its compartments had previously been opened out into a saloon at Slade Green in April 1984.

Most of these units have been weathered (and some renumbered) by The Model Centre in Yorkshire:

Ewhurst Green is a fictional BR(S) 4mm=1' scale model railway which has its basis on several planned (but never built) railway schemes in Surrey (from Dorking) that may have served the villages of Ewhurst and Ewhurst Green (as a junction for Cranleigh and Guildford) on its route down through Midhurst to conceivable join the railway from Brighton along the coast of Southern England near to Havant, thence onto Portsmouth and Southampton.

Please remember there is no sophisticated camera or specialist lighting - just me, partially sighted using a hand-held Nikon Coolpix pocket camera under the trackroom's lamps!
