The lateral extension helps to ground the legs and create space while moving sideways. It elongates and lengthens the trunk, sides, back, and frontal body. These postures stimulate the kidneys and open the heart region. Additionally, in these seated postures, we will incorporate a few parvritta (twisting actions) to stimulate and bring awareness to our posterior body.
