How to Apply Finger Bandages: My Dog Bite Injury

Sometimes Hand therapists get injured too! In this video, Michelle show you how to apply finger bandages by yourself. She was bit by her own puppy less than 24 hours ago. She will share what her finger wound looks like now by removing her own finger dressings. Then she will demonstrate how to reapply finger bandages on her own injured finger.

The most common problem with finger dressings is that they are too bulky. The bigger the dressing bandages the more likely it will fall off your injured finger. Not to mention a thicker dressing is uncomfortable, can rub against your other fingers, and reduce air flow to your finger wound. This can lead slower wound healing!
