These microorganisms can be used to create protein-rich ingredients to be used in food and feed production, presenting a promising – and more sustainable – alternative to animal proteins.

But to meet their full potential of contributing to more sustainable, healthy and nutritious food systems, advances in research, technology and regulation must be put in place. And that’s the core mission of the ProFuture project!
