Title: Noting But The Blood
Text: Genesis 4:8-12
Key Idea(s): Righteous Abel’s blood points to Righteous Jesus’s blood, which silences our fears of God.

Point 1) Half-Hearted Worship
-The first murder flows from a worship service.
-Cain wanted God to accept his form of worship and skip the blood (Gen 3:21, Heb 9:22)
-Cain could have been a good person, 99% moral, but his half-heartedness towards God leads to 0% morality quickly

Point 2) Cursed with Fear
-Abel’s blood speaking yields a curse for Cain
-Cain is cursed with a fear of God, mankind, and even his treasured farming
-Cain and his descendants, driven by fear, also become creative.
-Creates a world filled with 3 types of creativity: 1) Pure, 2) Inescapable, 3) Twisted

Point 3) Fears Relieved
-Abel points to Jesus (Ex: Luke 2:23, Rom 8:29, John 10:11, John 15:25, John 1:29, Heb 10:7-10, Heb 12:24)
-To be Christian is to see the secret to this fear-filled life, whether in abundance, poor, free, or imprisoned, is Christ and Christ crucified
- Nothing but the blood
