The meaning of Ojas in Sanskrit is vigour or vitality. It’s the foundation of our immunity, the energy reserve in our body and the base for happiness and contentment in life.
Ojas helps keep us in harmony, balance and pushes to reach our full potential. It is the container of the mind, body, spirit functioning as a whole.
LOW OJAS:
Common causes:
Physical or emotional trauma
Poor sleep habits
Overworking
Excessive orgasms
Excessive travel
High vata and prana in the body
Common Signs:
Chronic disease
low/poor energy
Aches and pains
Anger, selfishness, nervousness, stree
Low mood, anxiety, loneliness, lack of excitement and enjoyment in life

2. Eat ojas building foods and herbs - Focuses on sweet, heavy, slightly warm and smooth foods → this will nourish the body
3. Reduce stress- Keep good, positive company. Practice yoga, pranayama, art, nature, music as a healthy outlet. Don’t overwork and exhaust yourself
4. Avoid excessive sex- Control your sacred vital sexual energy to preserve ojas
5. Abhyanga - Nourishing, self love, self care
6. Gentle yoga /exercise - Relieves stress, promotes free flowing energy. Hike in nature, swim, breathe, attune to your breath to connect to the body
7. Surrender to life - Stop saying no to what actually is. This creates resistance and constriction to your life and disrupts ojas
8. Promote positivity in your mind, relationships, speech and life - Keep good company, inspiring dreams, compassionate people, positive thoughts.
