The Bible's Post-Exilic Prophetic Literature - HAGGAI |

Описание к видео The Bible's Post-Exilic Prophetic Literature - HAGGAI |

After the Jews were granted the freedom to return to their ancestral home of Israel from their exile to and captivity in Babylon then by the Medo-Persians, Three prophets received the Word of the LORD while Jerusalem lay in ruins. This is the message from the prophet Haggai and forms a major platform in the eventual coming of the Messiah. Even though the Jews had been granted permission to return to their ancestral homeland, they still regarded themselves as being in captivity because they would still be ruled by a foreign ruler. It was in this period that a large body of the Bible’s canonical literature was produced in various genres including poetry (the Psalms), history (Esther, Nehemiah, Ezra), and prophecy (Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi). Each of these works lays the foundation for the anticipation of the coming Messiah and the establishment of the New Covenant with Yahweh and the redeemed.
