The next morning, Jake comforts Megan as they wait for news on Renee’s condition. Bo brings Kevin and Joey to the hospital, but Viki tells Bo that Clint is sugarcoating the truth about Renee’s condition for the kids’ sake. Tina reels over the revelation that she ran down Renee, repeatedly reliving the incident. Asa is sitting at Renee’s bedside when she regains consciousness. Asa asks if she remembers anything about the car that hit her. She asks Asa to send Tina in, but before he can, Larry comes in and, seeing that the patient is awake, says he’s going to run some tests. Julia catches Gabrielle in Asa’s study, looking through his desk. Gabrielle says she’s looking for Asa’s will to see if he’s written Max into it yet. Julia asks what use the will is if Max is divorcing her anyways, but Gabrielle ignores the question because she’s found the will. The pair are trying to read the document when Nigel finds them snooping. Gabrielle manages to smuggle the will out of the office though, and she leads Julia to her room to inspect it. They discover that Asa’s latest will gives Max an equal share of the estate with Bo and Clint. Gabrielle becomes even more determined to hang onto her marriage. Carlo says he needs some time to himself. Megan asks Jake if he should head home to Charlotte, but Jake explains Charlotte is in a clinic in Switzerland and may not be back for weeks or even months. Bo interrupts them to get an update on Chad. Jake admits if Bo hadn’t showed up, he was about to tell Megan everything about Charlotte and Chad. Bo thinks Jake should tell Megan the truth, believing she might be able to help their investigation, but Jake wants to keep her out of it for now. Asa tells the whole family that Renee has regained consciousness. Tina and the others are visibly relieved. Asa tries to throw Carlo out of the waiting room, but Carlo counters that he’s tired of Asa’s posturing, especially since he’s just found out that Leopold Hansen has been out of the country for weeks. Carlo accuses Asa of planting the story about Hansen in the paper, and says if that car was a hitman trying to scare Carlo out of town then what happened is Asa’s fault. Viki tells Carlo that he can go now that Renee is going to be OK. She asks Asa if Carlo was right and Asa swears he didn’t hire a hit-and-run driver to scare off Hesser. Max and Alex return from Atlantic City and hear the news about Renee. Max is about to head to the hospital when Nigel tells him that Renee is out of the woods.

Hunter checks in with Megan and tells her he’s canceling rehearsal for the day so she can get some sleep. Carlo sneaks his way into Renee’s hospital room. He says he needed to see her alive with his own eyes. He admits that seeing her lying on the road there after the car hit her made him regret never telling her how he felt about her. He says he loved her more than anything back then, and he still does. Carlo says he’ll always be there for her. Tina calls the police commissioner and asks him to come to the hospital because she has important information for him. Later, Troy arrives at the hospital and gives Asa an unpromising update before going to meet with Tina. He asks what she wanted to tell him, but before she can tell him anything, Larry tells Tina that Renee has been asking for her, rather insistently. Lucky apologizes to Asa for not being able to give the police more information. He asks if the plan is still on, but Asa says Carlo is definitely onto them. Lucky admits he’s disappointed and had been hoping to buy the Stoplight Club. He asks Asa if maybe he’d front a small loan, but Asa tells him to back off. Jake tells Bo about Chad’s gambling debt, but they still don’t know why Carlo is financing Megan and Hunter’s movie. Bo hopes Hunter isn’t involved with Carlo as well. Renee tells Tina she knows she was the driver of the hit-and-run car. Tina tells Renee she needs to confess, but Renee tells her not to. Troy interrupts, telling Tina he has a very busy schedule and if she has something to tell him it needs to be now.
