British Instructional Films Ltd presents a Classroom Film.



Workers lift a large metal pipe and carry it into the forge. It is placed into a vice, marked and cut with a mechanised saw. The cut pipe is heated over hot coals then placed under a pressing machine. The red hot metal has a nail banged into it to make a hole then is pressed by another machine. The metal is then hammered over an anvil. C/Us of the two workmen. The metal is cooled in a trough of water. Ashes are brushed from the finished item - a hook.



Shot fades into a shot of the hook in action. A man winds a rope around the hook and motions for it to be lifted. We then see the hook raised into the air, lifting some cargo.
