Today, we're diving deep into a topic that so many of you have experienced—that unnerving feeling of being watched by the Narcissist long after the relationship is over.

You, the Empath, the Chosen One, and all genuine souls, will ultimately have the last laugh. It is okay. Let the Narcissist observe you in silence. I know many of you might think they aren't watching, that they’ve moved on without a second thought, but I can assure you, they are. They watch you in numerous ways, not solely through social media. The deeper reason they watch you in silence is to see how your life unfolds. They are desperate to witness how your story progresses after the termination of a relationship they were so sure you couldn't survive.

In any type of relationship, Narcissists possess a fixation, a profound desire to cause devastation in people's lives, and they frequently intensify this toward the relationship's end. They deliberately made life difficult for you, inflicting considerable pain and discomfort. They knew you possess a good heart, and they weaponized that knowledge, understanding that their calculated cruelty would wound you deeply. You are attuned to your emotions and feelings, and they counted on this to cause you maximum distress. Therefore, this behavior reflects their desire to "grab the popcorn" and watch you suffer, to validate the narrative they’ve constructed in their minds: that you are nothing without them.

But let's go a layer deeper. Why this obsession? It’s more than just sadistic pleasure. Psychologically, it’s rooted in their profound lack of what is known as 'object constancy.' In simple terms, they struggle to maintain a positive emotional connection to someone once they are out of sight or not actively serving a purpose. For them, you exist primarily in relation to them. So when you’re gone, they need to keep tabs on you to maintain their sense of reality and control. Your independent existence, especially a happy one, creates a massive cognitive dissonance for them. It's a reality they cannot compute.

Narcissists are consumed by pathological envy. They can't stand to see others happy, especially someone they once controlled. Your success, your peace, your new life—it all feels like a direct, personal attack on their fragile ego. They are watching, hoping to see you fail, because your failure would soothe their insecurity and prove to them that they were, in fact, the best thing that ever happened to you. They need to "win" the breakup, and in their distorted view, winning means you losing.

Indeed, they are capable of creating a very strong impression on many that they are not watching. However, I know that these Narcissists will go to great lengths, even recruiting "flying monkeys" to befriend you. This is entirely possible. While it might not be the case for you, this illustrates the extremes they are willing to reach.
