Diet is an essential part during treatment of kidney failure. Therefore every kidney failure patient is advised to follow a proper diet plan to maintain their creatinine or urea levels in the body.
Breakfast is equally important for every individual. Kidney failure patient are advised to eat parantha, poha, Upma, Dalia, or oats. Along with it, if a patient is non-diabetic then they can eat sweet daliya or salted daliya, bread, and biscuits. A patient can also eat parantha of onion, reddish, cauliflower, or carrot amd make must ensure the quantity of oil and ghee. Patient should also avoid puri, bhatura and junk food to maintain the levels of creatinine and urea and in the body.
In lunch we advise the patients to take low potassium vegetables along with Chapati. The patient must also make sure that they should not take curd or any type of sour food.Along with it, if the blood pressure of the patient is high then they must take a pinch of salt in every meal. Apart from that patients are advised to spices but to avoid chili and salt in their meal (they can take green chili without seeds).Not eating food properly results in low kidney functioning and low hemoglobin with pitting edema. Along with it, every kidney failure patient is advised to avoid high potassium rooty, leafy vegetables and jaggery. Even patients of south india are advised to eat but avoid imli in their sambhar. Including sour food in food results in increased creatinine and urea levels. Kidney failure patients can also eat jaw and its derivatives.
In dinner, patient are advised to eat food similar to lunch in the dinner.
As high creatinine is the main concern of patient, it can be decreased by two ways. First by decreasing its formation in the body and by increasing kidney function.
